In Infinity POWER Version 7.1 and higher, the Client/Server SQL version of System Administrator includes changes that support new features in the Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
While Data Pro recommends upgrading to Microsoft SQL Server 2005 for optimum enhancement capabilities, it is not required to run Infinity POWER Version 7.1 through 7.3. However, it is a requirement to install the Microsoft SQL Native Client 2005 software on all workstations accessing the server.
The Microsoft SQL Native Client 2005 software was provided within the installation program of Infinity POWER Version 7.1 through Version 7.3.
The following Microsoft SQL Server versions and products are supported by Microsoft SQL Native Client 2005:
- Infinity POWER Version 7.0 or higher
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005
The following operating systems are supported by Microsoft SQL Native Client 2005:
- Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or higher.
- Windows 2000 (all versions) with Service Pack 4 or higher.
- Windows 2003 (all versions).
IMPORTANT: If you have software assurance coverage with Microsoft and it ends on December 1st or after this date, you are eligible for a FREE upgrade to SQL Server 2005 through Microsoft.
